Give Dick Cheney a call and question him to come with you. Make sure your gun is unloaded.

    #1. Rifle, or
    #2. Bow and arrow, or
    #3. Quick sneakers

    In that order.

all i know that is if you are buying a resident tag, you have it made. i live one state over, in kansas. alot of people i know hunt elk in co. you pay less for a tag, and there is no lottery or drawing that non res have to go through.

if you have a muzzle loader, that would give you a first chance at the elk before rifle season starts. the co laws are pretty complicated regarding ml’s, so look into that first.

if you go with a regular rifle during that season, i would suggest you team up with a couple other people that are experienced. excellent luck.

hunt with a group of people and dont get caught!! place a few people in front of the herd in any open areas and place one or two people to push the elk out into the open. then just fire away!! it works excellent!!
